Building on the power of testimony and the love of sharing moments with Jesus!
We all have that friend whose walk with Jesus feels so beautifully close, like they’re truly best friends. If she’s struggling and you offer to help, she simply smiles and says, “God looks after me, I’m fine.” Her faith teaches without many words.
Not long after taking over J’s Corner, this prayer warrior friend asked if I had anointed or salfed the place. I hadn’t, and the question stuck with me. I began researching what it meant and even asked her for guidance. Finally, I decided I would anoint the space and claim it for Jesus one Friday morning. My heart was settled, my plan made.
Moments after that decision, this same friend asked if she could come work at J’s Corner on that very Friday. Of course, I said yes and thanked God for sending me her companionship for such a special task. But just after I finished thanking Him, she messaged back saying she’d forgotten about a meeting and couldn’t make it after all. I laughed and whispered, “Okay Jesus, it’s just You and me again.”
Something in me knew this was going to be special. Later, when I told her how I’d prayed for guidance and felt such relief at the thought of her being with me, she simply said, “He is the better Teacher anyway!” And how true that is.
Reading 1 John 2:27, I was reminded again of this: we don’t ultimately need anyone else to teach us, because the anointing we have received from Him abides in us. The Holy Spirit Himself is our Teacher and Guide. Friends are a blessing and can confirm what God is already speaking, but the Spirit remains the One who leads us into truth, gently, faithfully, always present.
So I thank You, Father, for Your Spirit who teaches, guides, and comforts. May we walk into this day knowing that the perfect Teacher already abides in us, and will never leave us. In Jesus’ mighty Name, Amen.
